Renewable Energy
Our out of control consumption of non-renewable fossil fuels has been likened to an addiction. Like the addict, we believe our lives depend a never-ending supply of a substance. But sadly our lives as energy consumers, like the addict’s, really depend on ending this suicidal habit. Cutting back is not the same as finding a completely new way of life. Changing our lives means completely ending our old relationship to energy sources such as oil, coal and other non-renewable substances
Light bulbs that produce ugly light and cars that guzzle gas … but guzzle a little less are not really solutions for our dwindling energy dilemma. This process is to the world of energy what cutting back is to the addict, needless suffering serving as temporary diversions.

Since the “The Cut Back/Pat-on-the-Back” process is rarely quantified, the consumer rarely understands at what point he again reaches his original consumption level. How many electric customers have actually pinpointed the exact dollar amount saved by changing a light bulb or two? How long was it between the energy crisis of the 1970s and the SUV?
Like the addict telling his friends he’s cut back, there is no exact way to measure cutting back. But for the moment, we all feel good about it and we give ourselves a pat on the back. Will consumption come to an end? Probably not. An addict thinks “Cutting Back” is, in itself, “doing something.” Thus it’s unlikely the addict will do anything else. The real solution, going cold turkey and quitting all together doesn’t make it to the agenda.
70% of the energy used to produce the power on the great electric grid is derived from fossil fuel such as oil, coal, etc. The problem is the source of the energy, not the amount consumed. Our only hope for a future of any kind is renewable energy: solar, wind, tide, even vegetable oil. Enlightened energy companies are developing these truly and completely green energy sources. They understand their own ultimate future as corporations is in sustainable energy production.
Don’t be dissuaded by fossil fuel phony fixes. Man who pat self on back too hard -- often fall on face.
This site aims to gather the researchers and enlightened manufacturers who are producing renewable energy technology and to develop a campus where all interested people may visit and interact with a truly green world. Where parents and teachers may guide young people toward the green vision of tomorrow.
